JOHN DUNCAN

ABOUT

John Duncan is an aspiring actor, high school student, pescatarian, and Mandarin Chinese speaker. He was born in Dallas, Texas, and moved to Harlingen when he was six years old. 
John has been involved with theatre since the sixth grade. However, his passion for performance began when he joined the "Storytelling" team in the first grade. A senior at Harlingen High School South and President of the Speech & Debate Team, he has continued to perform competitively in the 12 years since.  He is a four-time Texas Forensics Association State Finalist, named the 2019 TFA State Humorous Interpretation Champion, Duo Interpretation Runner-Up and Individual Sweepstakes Champion, a National Individual Events Tournament of Champions Finalist, a two-time National Speech and Debate Tournament Quarter-Finalist, and was a member of the 2018 Universal Interscholastic League 6-A One Act Play State Championship cast.
John recently closed his performance as Sam in a local production of Mamma Mia, and is currently in the process of applying and auditioning for BFA and BA Theater programs at universities across the country. In his spare time, he is in rehearsal for this year's One Act Play, 33 Variations, in the role of Beethoven.
